Faces of the Past

"For fifty years, the USO has brought solace and comfort and laughter to millions of GIs all around the globe. There isn't one GI whose spirits haven't been lifted and loneliness relieved for an hour or two by the talented and dedicated gypsies sent out by the USO. To the performers who unselfishly give their time and talents to entertain at our military bases, I say, thanks for a job well done."

- Bob Hope

Since 1941, the USO has brought top-quality entertainment to the front line of combat, providing a much needed morale boost to service members worldwide. The USO is grateful to all celebrities and “unknown” entertainers who have contributed their time and talents to support service men and women stationed around the world, ensuring them that they are not forgotten. Past USO entertainers include Bob Hope, Martha Raye, Marlene Dietrich, Danny Kaye, Loretta Lynn, Frances Langford, Ann Sheridan, Vic Damone, Mickey Gilley, Marilyn Monroe, Phillis Diller, John Wayne and thousands of others.
