    Senior Staff Accountant

     

    USO, a non-profit organization serving military members and their families, is actively recruiting for a Senior Staff Accountant, conveniently located at USO World Headquarters in Arlington, VA.

    Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, build and monitor annual budgets for our various centers and headquarters; prepare consolidated financial statements, monthly internal reporting packages, and year-end audit and 990 schedules; compile and analyze monthly internal financial reports for Management, and other ad-hoc reports as required.

    The preferred candidate must be professional, self-motivated, exhibit good problem solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and a proven ability to work well with accounting personnel. A service mentality and a comprehensive understanding of accounting standards and issues is also required.

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred.
    • A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
    • Excellent financial reporting skills, strong working knowledge of MS Excel and automated accounting systems.
    • Experience with Great Plains and Microsoft FRX. Forecaster a plus.
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

    HRIS Coordinator

     

    The USO seeks an experienced HRIS Coordinator to join the global HR team to enhance services provided to global organization. USO is dedicated to providing morale-boosting programs and services to enhance the quality of life for military personnel and their families around the world. This Position is conveniently located in Arlington, Virginia.

    Key Responsibilities:
    •Provide Data Management Support: generate payroll interface, process paperwork for salary changes, new hires, relocation and terminations.
    •Work with team to process paperwork from new hire orientation.
    •Generate regulatory reports, headcount and HR ad hoc data needs for HQ and field
    •Ensure the accuracy and quality of HR system information as used by management, third party administrators and regulatory authorities.
    •Monitor and analyze HR information flow through manual and automated processes.
    •Participate and/or manage various HR projects as a functional expert/representative.

    Requirements:

    Vice President, Operations (Programs/Services)

    Web Content Coordinator

     

    The United Service Organizations (USO), an internationally renowned service organization, which supports our active U.S. military personnel and their families, is actively recruiting for a Web Content Coordinator, a great opportunity for the right candidate, conveniently located in Arlington, VA.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Creating, publishing, and editing content (text, image, and video) to the USO WHQ web site, as well as Intranet ensuring that organizational updates are made in a timely manner.
    • Coordinating with the copywriting staff, Communications, IT, Entertainment, Operations, 3rd party vendor/consultants and other USO constituents to ensure the site continuously improves.
    • Obtaining rich media content via photographers, videographers in conjunction with USO communications and Entertainment staff.
    • Managing image and video archive system (USO, DVIDS, and User Generated Content (UGC) to store and tag content for relevant use.
    • Assisting Director of WebSite Operations concerning updates and changes to the content management system (CMS) and all other back-end development systems. Review scopes of work and information architecture documents for proposed enhancements to the site.
    • Working with USO partners to develop informative content regarding established programs, services and offerings.
    • Assisting in the development of custom donation campaigns and e-newsletter.
    • Researching, writing, editing, distributing and generating reports for the USO’s e-newsletter, surveys and other online marketing campaigns.
    • Developing and maintaining Social Media Content.

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English or other related field is required.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
    • A full understanding of HTML and web authoring tools, including Adobe Photoshop.
    • Proficiency using Photoshop, Contribute/CPS, DreamWeaver, and/or SharePoint
    • Experience with In-Design or other graphic design programs helpful
    • Creativity and professionalism in the presentation of data and other materials
    • High level of organizational skills including extreme attention to detail
    • Ability to learn and implement new concepts and technologies with a demonstrated fluency in the latest trends in web marketing, and a proven track record of using technology and the web to engage donors with content that inspires donations.
    • Project management skills including determination and follow-through of open items

    Director of Donor Services

    Senior Vice President & Chief Development Officer

     

    The United Service Organizations (USO), an internationally renowned nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to supporting our active U.S. military personnel and their families since 1941, is actively seeking a passionate, innovative Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer with significant leadership experience building a strong development program and committed to the USO’s mission.

    The successful candidate must bring a strategic focus to this position and provide a total vision, leadership and coordination for the USO’s fundraising strategies, development opportunities, and engage in research that defines new markets and prospects. Areas of focus include major gifts, foundation and corporate proposals and reports, sponsorship of programs, direct mail, and planned giving.

    Qualifications:
    •Ten plus years of fund development related experience is required with a Bachelor’s degree with an advanced degree preferred.
    • Significant experience in all forms of fundraising, proven experience in identifying, cultivating and soliciting major donors and leadership in major capital campaigns in excess of $10 million donated goods/ $17 million cash contributions.
    •Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, motivate and work effectively with a CEO, board members, donors and volunteers.
    •Excellent communication skills, oral, verbal and written.
    •Expertise in managing budgets and fundraising data.
    •Organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple and competing priorities.
    •Proactive, “can-do” approach to challenges, and a collaborative team player.
    •Willingness to travel up to 25%.
